In-season Hybrid Maintenance Program

Program outline

Designed to help our athletes stay on top of the demands of being in season, continue to stand out on the field, all while maintaining their offseason gains. It can be very difficult for young athletes to get proper in-season arm care/ movement prep, postgame recovery, mechanical adjustments, and workouts on their own. The program will be personalized to every athlete’s specific needs and schedule. As always, this program will be data driven/ measured to track and ensure that athletes don’t experience regressions in strength, movement, or performance on the mound or at the plate. Weekly program focus will be determined by what an individual’s game schedule looks like. This program is designed to aid performance and accelerate recovery in season, not become a burden on the athlete’s body. Being a hybrid program, players will have access and two in person sessions per week to perform in-season workouts and mechanical work, as well as access to a shared remote player portal that will contain, game day mobility prep, post game recovery program, and a nutritional log . This format will enable players to focus on game performance while having access to all the resources they’ll need to ensure optimal game performance and recovery.  In addition, Players will have the ability to receive mechanical analysis, in-game metric capture, and video analysis.

Program Description

On BoardingEach player will have a zoom meeting to go over the remote program, how to navigate the player portal (shared google drive), how to input daily data in logs and workouts, and more.
Setting GoalsPlayers will complete a player profile questionnaire which entails overall in-season goals, current metrics going into season and specific desired metrics by end of season.
Player PortalPlayers will access the remote program resources through the player portal.  The player portal will include:
·  In Season Workout program
· Throwing Program pre and post game day
·  Nutritional Chart/Log
· Everything players will need for recovery, soft tissue work, agility, and conditioning
In Season Workouts· Include multiple weekly options to ensure that players don’t hinder field performance.
· Each week there will be a lower body primer option, lower body power option, and a hybrid lower and upper body workout.
· Each option will be geared towards ensuring that what they do in the weight room will sync up with their game/practice schedule that week.
· During workouts, players will be required to input info such as weight used, intensity, and duration. This will ensure that Matt is staying up to date with what the player is doing, how they are progressing, and responding to the workouts.
Throwing Program *specific to pitchers· Individualized to the player’s specific game/ practice schedule.
· The program will have everything scheduled for players throwing in-between games (daily throwing, long toss, recovery throwing, and prep days).
Nutritional Chart/Log· The Nutritional chart/ log will enable players to track calorie intake to ensure they are properly fueling their bodies and don’t lose weight during the season, which can be easy to do if a player isn’t staying on top of nutrition.
